QUESTIONS
Would it be okay to just give the whole lump sum pledge instead of a monthly commitment? Also, can the money be given for 2007 (for tax purposes) instead of in January 2008?
Yes. If you would like to sow the entire pledge amount at one time, as well as, make a contribution before December 31, 2007 you most certainly can.
When will ground be broken for the new church and when will the church be completed? When will we start the actual building? What is the timeline to complete the new facility? What is our estimated timeline for when we can start construction? How long for completion?
We are in the process of planning and as soon as more concrete information is available we will announce it. The building project will be completed in 3 - 4 phases. Once we are certain in what order the phases will be constructed we will have a more precise timeline. Abundant Life will make every effort to keep the members well informed of the project's progress.
Will there be special envelopes?
No. Abundant Life modified the existing envelopes to include the Capital Campaign pledge. You can utilize one check for all entries (tithes, offering, missions, benevolent, Capital Campaign, and other). The Trustee ministry will earmark the funds to their respective accounts.
When do we start paying against the project? Is the $3 million what's needed to start or will we start earlier?
For the last two years Abundant Life has been in the planning phase of the building project. Most of the steps forward have been completed behind the scenes (i.e. meeting with the city officials, completing numerous drawings during the conceptual and design development phase of the project, hiring consultants for surveying, environmental issues, geotechnical analysis, completion of the facility building plan, and meeting with other interested parties to make this project a success). These expenses were funded by you the faithful members of Abundant Life Family Worship Church by your participation in Resurrection Seed Sacrifice (one week salary contributed by the members every Easter Sunday for the last few years). Abundant Life's intentions are to use the Capital Campaign funds to offset the cost of the building by utilizing these funds to cover soft cost (the interior contents of the new facility). As always, we sincerely appreciate your financial support, however, the Executive Board reserves the right to redirect all funds to the area of ministry needed most.
Will there be an opportunity to share ideas for the new facility? If so, how can we share?
Most of the ideas for the building have been completed in relations to the outward structure of the building; however the layout for the interior of the building has not. Bishop George C. Searight and the Executive Board will certainly give consideration to your ideas, suggestions, or concerns. However please keep the following in mind. Over the past two years, Abundant Life Family Worship Church has relied heavily on the wisdom and expertise of the Development Team who has executed countless projects of this magnitude from conception to completion. Therefore, it is necessary that we heed the counsel of those who are proficient in this line of work in order to successfully complete the mission.
Where will we go while construction is taking place?
Our building project is still in the planning phase and our options are still in review. We will inform you of our final decision.
Will we get a letter concerning our yearly commitment? How will the commitment be treated on individual/business tax returns?
The Trustee ministry is planning to mail out quarterly or biannual updates and at the end of each calendar year a letter will be given for tax purposes outlining your annual gift for the Capital Campaign, along with, your annual contribution letter for tithes and offerings.
Are pledges tax write-offs?
No, the actual pledge commitment is not. Once you start sowing the actual funds, then yes all contributions made payable to Abundant Life Family Worship Church are tax deductible. We are recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c) 3 organization.
Will the church set-up some kind of bonds relating to the building?
The contractors will be bonded. In regards to financial bonds, the church is exploring bonds as a form of financing for the project.
Is the commitment to be paid in full at the end of the third year or can one commit themselves to pay it annually?
Attached to the commitment card was a commitment schedule and you have the option of sowing pledge amounts weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly and annually. Remember it is up to you. Just select what schedule works best for you. If you desire to sow the entire amount at one time, Abundant Life will most graciously accept the seed.
Can we electronically give our pledge amounts?
Yes. If you desire to contribute electronically, you can pick up an e-giving card from the Welcome Center or the Capital Campaign pledge receptacles located in the upper and/or lower levels.
Is the church in a position to receive property and other assets which can be sold or converted to cash (jewels, cars, houses, etc...)?
We can explore this idea but we need some specifics as to the types of gifts and the research of the tax code on the gifts.
